Explaining Cervical Spinal Decompression

You are supposed to have the ability to move your head in four directions.. up, down and side to side. If you have a problem doing that you may need a cervical adjustment. This Reno clinic offers a new chiropractic therapy is called "cervical spinal decompression". This is where a machine (called a spinal decompressor), slowly separates the vertebra in the neck. During this painless procedure the machine alleviates the pressure from the disc and nerve roots.

Cervical Spine ShownA lot of patients are asking about "cervical decompression therapy" because one of their family members has gone through treatment, or one of their friends has told them how great it was.

For anyone suffering with chronic neck pain, shoulder pain, or headaches, cervical decompression is nothing short of a miracle. Decompression works by releasing pressure on the spinal nerves in the neck and upper back.

How do you know if your neck needs decompression? Try this little home exam on yourself. First, turn your head all the way to the right. Are you equal to your shoulder? Now try the left. Do you have the same flexibility? Now tilt your head all the way back, then all the way forward.

If you had any limitations in movement, or abnormal pain, you may need to undergo spinal decompression. Other symptoms of cervical compression are numbness, or pain that radiates throughout the shoulders region, and down into the arms, and hands.

Does spinal decompression hurt? No, not at all. Cervical spinal decompression only takes 15-minutes, you come in a couple times a week for a month or so, and boy, believe me, you will feel so much better.

Decompression is not like traditional chiropractic therapy, decompression moves very slowly. It uses counter weight and gravity to gently separate the vertebrae of the neck. It allows us to target specific segments of the neck and reduce the pressure on the joints and disc(s).

Neck pain is not a normal part of aging. You aren't supposed to cringe every time you turn your neck. Now you can do something about it. If you have been living with pain in the neck or head, you now have an option that not only works, it works without medication.
